Ein Gedi National Park

In the Ein Gedi area: Ein Gedi Nature reserve is located on the eastern edge of the Judean Desert, on the shore of the Dead Sea. The sweet water springs – David's spring and Arugot Spring together with the Ein Gedi Spring flow down the slopes between two wadis. The flora and fauna grow in abundance and flourish in the wonderful climate just as G-d intended.

Ein Gedi Antiquities is situated alongside the nature reserve at the foot of the desert mountains and below the plateau of Kibbutz Ein Gedi. There you can see a synagogue, a street and a number of buildings dating from the Byzantine period. A fascinating mosaic floor depicting the 13 ancestors of humanity and the 12 signs of the Zodiac together with an Aramaic inscription which instructs all the inhabitants of the period to conduct themselves according to the rules of the village. It also warns of a curse on those who reveal the 'secret of Ein Gedi Town!'

Historical interest, cultural values, social aspects, agricultural viability, religious influences – they are all here in the national park. Under the management of the Israel Nature and Parks Authority a visit to their web site will only tempt you all the more as to the fabulous attractions you can see there!

Go on; give it a go – www.parks.org.il

All this only 5 minutes away from Ein Gedi Country and has to be seen to be believed!
